It is still unknown if the woman is a guide dog trainer from Hong Kong Seeing Eye Dog Services, although the woman was wearing a T-shirt with a logo similar to the organization.
In the video the woman with her eyes covered was walking a black dog, who was facing backward. She was accompanied by a man by her right.
The woman who wished to move forward, turned around and pulled the dog with both her hands. The dog was forced to turn around and face forward, and it moaned when it was being pulled.
The man by her side didn’t do anything. The woman then moved the dog to her left and picked up the leash, letting it lead her way.
So far there is no response from the Hong Kong Seeing Eye Dog Services.
The video attracted many netizens to comment. One said “The woman should be trained first”, while another said “Quit the job if you are not caring and patient”.
Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association expressed concerns on this matter and declared that the people and dog in the video are not linked to them. They condemned any violent actions towards animals and guide dogs.
The Association said the health, welfare and rights of guide dogs are their priorities. They also added that an experienced trainer can tell whether the dog is willing to participate in training and complete its tasks.
